Technical brief
Why six cavities at 6-inch diameter
The 6-inch cavity is the workhorse VHF duplexer: enough Q-factor to deliver > 85 dB suppression at 500 kHz separation, enough thermal margin for 300 W continuous duty, and a 30 kg / 850 mm chassis that fits any standard 19-inch rack.
Four band-reject cavities create deep notches at the unwanted carrier; two band-pass cavities sharpen the response at the wanted carrier. The cumulative response holds above 85 dB across the operating window with 1.8 dB maximum insertion loss.
Where this product fits
The most common deployment shape across VHF repeater infrastructure: public-safety, marine coastal, broadcast STL, amateur-radio repeaters at 1-5 MHz Tx-Rx separation. If your site has tighter separation (< 500 kHz), step up to an 8-inch or custom build — talk to our application engineers.
Sweep report on every unit
Every 6-Inch 6-Cavity VHF Duplexer (BPBR) ships with the per-unit measured response taken at 25 °C, 50 Ω on the actual unit. The sweep is the contract — see a sample at /sample-sweep-report.
Replacing an existing system?
If you're operating a legacy 6-cavity duplexer from another vendor, our application engineers can confirm whether the VHF-DP-6-6 is a drop-in replacement for your specific part — send us your part number.
