Public-safety UHF combiner rebuild after lightning event
Metro Police Department
Challenge
A direct lightning strike disabled four of the eight ports on the legacy UHF combiner serving a metro public-safety repeater system. Replacement parts had a 14-week lead time from the original manufacturer.
Solution
ALUNOR RF shipped a UHF 8-Channel Cavity Combiner (8-Inch) from in-stock inventory within 72 hours, complete with sweep report and Motorola repeater interface adapter cables. Our installation partner brought the system back online over a single weekend window.
Result
Total downtime: 9 days versus the 14-week alternative. The department has since standardized new builds on the ALUNOR product line and added 3 sites to a 2026 procurement plan.
